If mainly private individuals took advantage of the network, Pinterest has recently launched a „business solution“, too. Since then, companies may officially use the website for promotional purposes. And that brings quite a few advantages:

 §  Each „pinned“ image refers to the original source of the image, which is ideally the company’s website. That generates traffic.

§  The Shares and Likes of the pinned images allow conclusions to how well received the product or service in the target group is.

§  By „Repinning“ product images of their own fans this would not only show their appreciation, but at the same time point out to potential buyers how satisfied existing clients are.

§  Target groups boards provide transparent information on trends and preferences of potential buyers.

§  By frequent pinning back references are created (also called backlinks), for example to the corporate side. This has a positive effect on search engine rankings.
